Today's feast: Hickory smoked pork ribs, twice baked garlic amadine potatoes, coleslaw and fried tomato. Kansas city style sauce and a Hesjeøl (harvest beer) on the side.

Fun fact of the day: Old norwegian law demanded that all farmers brewed beer (you could even forfeit your farm if you neglected this requirement!), and required a particularily hearty and thirst quenching beer during harvest time. A small, local, independent micro brewery has recently taken up this tradition, and I am happy to say it goes brilliantly with smoked meats. Even if one finds oneself in vacation mode, and did not do anything at all the whole day, exept piddle around
