    Made me hungry, not ridiculous at all. One of my favourite snacks is sardines on buttered toast with a splash of balsamic.

    We had been away from home several days so my wife took beef stew from the freezer and heated it in the crick pot. I made blue corn bread to go with it. The browning on the bottom and sides is caused by the batter being poured into hot cast iron greased with bacon grease.

    Easy and quick. Probably from my having worked rotating shifts, I wonder why food should follow the clock?
